The South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program (SAVLP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free legal assistance in certain civil matters to low income residents of Mobile, Baldwin, Washington and Clarke counties.
If you think you may qualify as low-income under the program’s financial guidelines, please contact SAVLP. You can apply for services by telephone (438-1102), online or in person. Drop-in Office hours are 9:00 am - 11:30 am and 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, appointments at different times can be made by calling (251) 438-1102 and you can access the online application anytime.
The SAVLP provides Free Legal Advice every month in Mobile and in Baldwin county. Mobile County Free Legal Advice Clinics are held every 2nd Thursday of the month from 1:00-3:00pm on the 4th Floor of the Mobile County Court House. Upcoming dates include: May 9th, June 13th, July 11th, Aug. 8th, Sept. 5th. Baldwin County Free Legal Advice Clinics rotate date and location every month. Please see SAVLP calender below.
The SAVLP also provides free legal assistance to community based organizations that improve the lives of the SAVLP client base and contribute to the revitalization of Mobile, Baldwin, Clarke and Washington counties. See our Community Economic Development application for more information.
Through the Wills for Heroes project, SAVLP attorneys provide free basic estate planning services to firefighters, police and emergency personnel. Please contact us by telephone or e-mail regarding the 2012 schedule.
